(WTOC) - The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on the mental health needs of children and teachers. This coming school year, Savannah-Chatham County public school students and staff will have a place to go to get the counseling they need. The Employee Assistance Program is available through Lifestyle Management Resources and also through other community resources to address many of life's problems, such as family crises, stress management, marriage counseling, alcoholism, drug use, anger, pain, parenting, etc. At little or no cost to all employees, spouses, and dependents.
Supporting young children in times of national crisis is important for them to understand the world around them. Recent events have caused many to wonder: “How can I talk to my child about the events that are happening in the world? The National Child Traumatic Stress Network recommends these steps to talk to young children about any major events that are currently happening. Students, faculty, and staff can work out in fitness classes or use cardiovascular and strength machines in this 4,475-square-foot building. This school year, we will open a new wellness center, temporarily located in the student affairs office of the district building.
